PRThailand hope to pick up two points on the opening day of their Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group 2 clash with the Philippines today. The first singles match will see Thailand's top-ranked player Wichaya Trongjaroenchaikul take on the Philippines No.2 Alberto Lim and the country's No.2, Jirat Navakitsomboon, will face Jason Patrombon, the Philippines No.1, later on the first day. Thailand Davis Cup captain Vittaya Sumrej: "From what we have seen, I think Thailand can claim two points on the first day." This will be my first meeting with Patrombon but I am sure I can win the match for Thailand."
